CELTA or equivalent and minimum 2 years’ experience. We seek teachers who are professional in their approach, adaptable, dedicated, organised, creative and motivated. A knowledge of Portuguese, while not essential, is an advantage, especially in dealing with children and beginners. Candidates should provide full details of education and proficiency in languages.
Compensation:
We employ teachers on a the basis of a freelance agreement to teach 24 hours per week from 01/10/2014 to 30/06/2015. Possible renewal: 01/10/2015 to 30/06/2016. We guarantee remuneration of 1,664 euros per month gross (16 euros/hour). Free accident insurance; c. 10 days’ holiday at Christmas and Easter; opportunities for professional development; assistance in dealing with Portuguese authorities and arranging accommodation; exemption from social security contributions for the first 12 months of your residence in Portugal; typical teaching periods during which the timetable may be arranged: Mon/Tue/Thu 5.00pm-10.00pm, Wed 2.30pm-5.00pm and 6.00pm-10.00pm, Fri 3.00pm-8.00pm Sat 10.00am-1.00pm.
The school is located in the small Unesco world heritage city of Evora in southern Portugal. We offer communicative language training for small groups of children, and youths/adults, at all levels (6 years of age to CPE level) and training for Cambridge exams, especially FCE/CAE. Facilities include interactive whiteboards (training provided). Our ’Guidelines for Teachers’ booklet provides information and guidance for new teachers. 1. Working Hours: Monday to Friday on a semester basis;
2. Teaching Hours: 22 teaching periods per week;
3. Average Class Size: 20-25;
4. Give Lessons including planning and preparation as well as course development;
5. Conduct course assessment and student academic counseling.
Ⅳ. Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree or above in education or related majors;
2. Native English speaker or English skills equivalent to native level;
3. At least three years teaching experience;
4. Teaching Certificate, PGCE,QTS or equivalent is preferred;
5. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.
Ⅴ. Compensation & Benefits
